Obituary
Aaron’s book of life began on May 9th, 1955 born to the union of Aaron Baker, Sr. and Emma Baker the 3rd of 5 siblings.
Aaron was a life long resident of Tulsa attending Hawthorne and Dunbar Elementary schools, Carver Jr. High and graduating in 1975 from Booker T. Washington High School.
Aaron started his work life at the age of 11 when he took on the task of a newspaper route; delivering papers in the morning before school for the Tulsa World and again in the evening after school for the Tulsa Tribune until the age of 14 when he went to work for Southern Hills Country Club in the culinary department where his love of cooking and feeding people began.
After graduating from BTW he went to work for Big Four Foundry as a Fabricator. Aaron retired from Big Four in 2005 returning to his love of cooking and culinary arts. He formed his business Baker & Baker Catering Plus shortly after his retirement. In addition to his love of cooking, Aaron loved to draw, paint and landscape having many clients whose lawns he took care of, which he was extremely proud of until he retired from lawn care in March 2024. Aaron was a man of many talents and interests; making BBQ grills out of barrels, riding his motorcycles and taking care of and riding his horses. Aaron always loved gathering with family and friends and having a good time. He was and will always be loved and missed.
Aaron is preceded in death by his parents Aaron, Sr and Emma Baker. A sister Benella Baker Ponder (Benni), as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memory his son: Christopher Baker (Tulsa, OK) granddaughter: Alicea Baker (Norfolk, Virginia) stepson: Jason Gill (OK City, OK) Sisters: LeBerta Baker Ballage (Ken – Austin,TX) Kathy Koch (Rick – Tulsa) Brother: William Baker ( Joanna – Tulsa) Aunts: Ruby Baker (Foreman, Ark) Rosie Jones (Tulsa) Jessie Jones (Idabel, Ok) Uncle: Mac Bizzell (Edna – Dallas, TX), along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins long time friends, his 3 lifetime friends: Kenny McClellan, Paul Combs & Donald Daniels and sister friend: Gwen Hawkins-Minor.
Visitation for Mr. Baker will be held on Friday, July 12, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd St., Tulsa, OK 74104.
