Ahunawake was a woman of many passions, giving to others, a lover of music, of history, of travel, a voice for the underdog, and fiercely proud of her Native American heritage. “Susie” as she was known, tried to point out the good things about others, while downplaying all the great things about herself. Susie loved her nieces and nephews, cousins included, as if they were her own. Ahunawake was our foundation, may she now rest in peace.
