Obituary
On March 26, 1955, Alfred Lamell Traylor Sr., was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to parents Dorothy Mae Traylor and Willie Lee Oates.
Growing up, he quickly embraced his middle name as everyone began to address him as Lamell. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in1973 and became an employer with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (formally known as Frisco Railroad). During his tenure with the company, he relocated to different states before returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma and retiring circa May 2011.
Alfred… A wonderful father, son, grandfather, brother, and friend. From his warm and kind smile that lights up a room, unforgettable laugh, quick and witty sense of humor, and his infamous salutation, “love…peace” after every phone conversation will be remembered by all. He enjoyed quality time with his grandchildren and friends. Taking after his mother, he was known to have intimate gatherings filled with love, laughter, and a good game of Dominos. His gentle spirit helped those in need and did so with humility, style, and grace.
Alfred transitioned with family by his side on Thursday, April7th, 2022. Lamell is proceeded in his death by his mother Dorothy Hill, father Willie Oates, brother Michael Traylor, grandmother Ida Mae Brown, and step-father Albert Hill.
He is survived by his children: Richard (Tanika) Traylor, Andre Hall, Aisha Traylor, Alfred Traylor Jr., and Whitney Traylor. Lamell leaves everlasting memories with his grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. My condolences to his family. Mel was such a gentleman so nice and kind. He is gonna be missed. Rest in the arms of Jesus…..Rip Mel

I hired Lamell at Frisco Railway, which is now BNSF!
He was the kindest, politest young man! He was an excellent employee and supervisor, one of the Best!
