Obituary

Angela, also known as “Angie” by those close to her, was born May 24, 1964 to Evelyn Duncan-Cain (Rickey Cain). She was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma alongside her sister, Felicia Chatmon Whittaker, and brother, Dwayne Chatmon. She chose to follow Christ early and was a faithful member of Bibleway Church of God in Christ. She was a proud member of the McLain High School class of 1982. She received higher education at Vo-Tech in food services. As a young woman she had many talents and explored her passions for singing and modeling. She worked in food services and maintenance until dedicating her life to raising her two children, Darell and Shcarry Chatmon, with her ex-husband and friend Robert Gist. She loved her children unconditionally and taught them wisdom, respect, and gratitude.

Angela was a joy to be around, she cherished her family and friends dearly. She always made sure she looked her best and was a beautiful person inside and out. She enjoyed an extensive movie collection, creating art and jewelry, collecting family photos, water aerobics at the YMCA, and sitting on the porch enjoying a beautiful day and a good book. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her fiancé Ronald Littlejohn, with whom she shared fifteen amazing years.

Though she will be deeply missed, her vibrance and love will be felt for eternity.  Angela was welcomed into paradise by her grandmother, Geraldine Chatmon, her step-father Archie Duncan, her step-son Robert Jr, and many other loving family members. She will live on through her mother, brother, sister, children, fiancé, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.       

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Friday, February 19, 2021 at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home Chapel .
