Obituary

Archie Lee Voight III, a native of Texas City, Texas, and known for his infectious laughter, passed away at the age of 66 on August 15, 2023, at 1:55 am at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Archie’s laugh was contagious, filling rooms and warming the hearts of those around him. Whenever he asked how you were doing, he meant it sincerely, making friends wherever he went with his genuine nature. His skills as a welder and truck driver showcased his hard-working spirit, and his achievements as a Class A BBQ’er, especially at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, were great sources of pride.

A loving father and proud PawPaw, Archie adored his girls, celebrating family at every opportunity. Growing up in Texas City, his love for his hometown remained strong, and his younger years were marked by a passion for hot rods, especially his prized 1972 Chevelle SS. Archie’s love for rock ‘n’ roll, especially the tunes of Elvis, often led him to the dance floor where he was always keen for a good time. Among his many interests, he had a special affection for westerns, losing himself in tales of cowboys and frontier life. This connection to stories of simpler times mirrored his own childhood dream of living on a farm.

His humor, often revealed through cracking jokes at unexpected times and in the oddest of moments, taught those close to him to find laughter in chaos. This knack for bringing joy in unlikely situations became a cherished memory and a lesson in resilience for his daughters and grandchildren.

He is survived by his oldest daughter, Crystal, and her husband, Billy, together with their children, Logan, Brianna, Sadie, and Cooper. Also left to honor Archie’s memory are his youngest daughter, Tiffani, her husband, Chris, and their child, Silas.

A private ceremony will be held by his daughters to spread his ashes, honoring his wishes and celebrating his life in an intimate, meaningful way. Archie’s memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew and loved him. His life, filled with laughter and unwavering love, serves as a beautiful reminder to cherish every moment and connection we have.
