Obituary

On January 26, 1986, a precious baby girl was born to Benita Verner and Rickey Colbert. Ashley Renée Verner was the third of her Mother’s children. Ashley was blessed to have had six children of her own and two grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and was passionately devoted to. Ashley wanted the absolute best for her children.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she had a contagious smile and a radiant personality. Ashley was a strong shoulder to cry on, a faithful friend, and the light of life for everyone in her inner circle.

Ashley relished a fulfilling career in Home Health and Customer Service. She delighted in working with and taking care of the elderly. Ashley never greeted a stranger without a smile. She would go out of her way to do anything for anyone and she truly had a servant’s heart.

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Benita Verner. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew and loved her.

Ashley’s legacy of love will be forever cherished by her children and grandchildren: her three daughters- Benita Colbert, Jeada Colbert and Tracey Colbert; her three sons- Garrick Colbert, Marquise Colbert, and Dre’quon Colbert; and her two grandchildren- Ja’real Landrum and Marilynn Gracean. Her brothers- Richie Verner and Sidrick Verner (Shondelle Marie Verner-Nunley); and her sisters- Tamara Verner, Latoya Verner and Richella Verner. Her step siblings- Angela Colbert, Deshanna Colbert, Shawne Vaden, and Taron Colbert also, her special friend Ray’Vaugh Henry; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 Visitation for Miss Verner will be held on Friday, August 28, from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 East 3rd Street, Tulsa, OK 74104.
