Obituary

Barbara Anne Bond, age 69, of Sand Springs passed from this life on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.

A celebration of life will be held, Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. December 22, 2020 at Hillspring Church in Sand Springs with Pastors Brent Kellogg and Matt Barnett officiating.  Barbara will be laid to rest beside her parents in a private graveside service in Ames, OK at a later date with arrangements entrusted to the care of Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home of Tulsa.

Barbara was born on April 4, 1951 in Tulsa, OK to Perry & Bobbie (Harris) Mallory.  She graduated from Charles Page High School in Sand Springs.  Barbara married Buddy Bond on October 25, 1969 in Tulsa and they made their home in Sand Springs.  They were blessed with two sons, Jason Christian and Ryan Mallory Bond.  Barbara worked in the banking and insurance industry, and later served at Tulsa Metro Baptist Association for several years before finishing out her career and retiring from Kirk of the Hills in 2019.

Barbara loved flowers and working in her yard, entertaining, decorating, working with youth, baking and ministering to others.   Barbara was a caretaker, often putting the needs of others before her own and throughout her years of ministry touched the lives of many, leaving a far-reaching legacy of care.  Barbara had a deep love of music and singing.  She attended Olivet Baptist Church in Tulsa growing up and sang in a quartet with her siblings – Kathy, Larry and Rick.  She sang in the choir and performed in many productions while there.  Barbara served on the praise team at Agape Metro Church and continued serving at Cornerstone/Hillspring.

Barbara is survived by husband Buddy Bond and sons Jason and Ryan all of Sand Springs, siblings Kathy Wolf and husband Jeff of Sand Springs, Larry Mallory and wife Brenda of Sand Springs, Rick Mallory and wife Karen of Tulsa and Lisa Gillilan of Sand Springs, Aunt Marilyn and husband Dr. Dean DeMoss of Aledo, TX as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Barbara was always so welcoming. She made me feel welcome anytime I tagged along with Mallory somewhere. I enjoyed her. She was fun.
The memory that stands out the most to me is getting to spend the 4th of July with the family at her house. She even invited my parents, of whom she didn’t really know. That was so sweet of her.

  3. Rest gently sweet Barbara!

  4. So sorry praying for family's and friends
