A Time To Be Born: Benjamin Ray Jones was born on September 9, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the care of his loving parents, Evelyn H. Jones and Will Earnest Jones. Bennie accepted God at an early age. He received his formal education through Tulsa Public Schools. Afterwards Bennie launched his career with the Summit Club and Galleria for eight years as a professional Chef. We can say that Bennie was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching people eat the food he prepared. A Time to Love Bennie was married at an early age and was blessed with three children: Robbie Jones, Benjamin R. Jones Jr, and Jeremiah Jones.  As time progressed, he was birthed into the ministry preaching God’s word to whomever he encountered. He attended several churches during his minstrel growth and became an ordained minister spreading the Word of God. During his ministry, he would travel to different areas around town to local revivals just to be in the presence of God and His people. Although Bennie knew the word and was a faithful servant, life happens and it’s never good when you fall from grace, but you must get back up again. God told him, “He would never leave or forsake him.”  Bennie’s life came to screeching halt when He was shot in 1993 and was left for dead. At that moment God told him, “It was not unto death, but for His glory!” During time spent out of God’s will landed him in a wheelchair.  After that Bennie renewed his faith in God with a new beginning.   A Time To Give Bennie was known to be a giver and was excited to help support the mission of God. He would often help with monetary gifts as often as possible and do what he could for anyone in need. He was a great brother to all on us, and the strongest person we knew.   A Time To Rest Our brother Bennie was called to rest on June 2, 2019. God’s plan for his life was completed and now he is resting safely in His arms. Bennie was preceded in death by his (mother) Evelyn H. Jones, (father) Earnest Jones, (sister in-law) Vanessa Jones and others who has gone before him. A Time To Reflect Bennie leaves behind to cherish his memories are his children, Robbie (Shetika) Jones, Benjamin R. Jones Jr, and Jeremiah Jones. his siblings: Lula (Wayne) Smith Addie (Pastor Stephen) Rathod, Ernestine (Emiah), Butler Willie Jones, Robert (Lillie) Jones, Earlene Jones, Frankie Jones, Joanne (Gravelly) Miles, Rickie (Rosalyn) Jones, Maria (Duane) Brooks and Danny Jones. A host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, and a special family friend, Kim Wilson to cherish his memories. Visitation for Mr. Jones will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 3pm-8pm, at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 7, 2019, 1:00 pm, at Covenant Family Church, 725 East 36th Street North.
