An angel was born on January 6, 1951, in Spencer, Oklahoma, to Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie R. Peoples Jr. They lovingly named her Bernice.

Bernice was the fourth child and third daughter of five. She graduated from Dunjee High School in 1969. After graduation, Bernice left Spencer and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in hopes of building relationships and to be closer to her siblings.

Bernice met and married Robert L. Crawford, and from that union had a daughter. Bernice began working at Oklahoma Natural Gas Company as a cashier, retiring after 33 years of dedicated service. She also volunteered at several schools helping children learn to read. She always did her best to give back and be of service to others.

Bernice was a dedicated, devoted, humble servant of the Lord and made it her mission to instill the Word in her children and grandchildren. Bernice found her final church home at Amazing Grace Christian Center, where she volunteered her time and good cakes.

Ms. Bernice “Bee” P. Crawford transitioned to her Heavenly Home on September 5, 2026.

Bernice was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie R. Peoples Jr.; Carrie B. Williams; two grandchildren, Dujuan L. Crawford and Gary Guyton Jr.; a sister, Carline Palmer; and her grandparents who raised her, Johnnie R. Peoples Sr. and Gladys Peoples.

Ms. Bernice is survived by her two children, Tracy and Bryan Crawford, and daughter-in-law, Christina Crawford; six grandchildren: Damond Guyton, Teaira Guyton, Aubreyanna Toje, Bryan Crawford II, Aria Crawford, Bennett Crawford, and Arthur Crawford; two great-grandchildren, Amyra and Aurora Toje; two brothers: Lee Peoples and Curtis Williams; and two sisters, Queen Holt and Johnnie Shaffer; along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
