Obituary

Billie Lucille Glover entered into glory Monday, December 29, 2019 at the age of 97 years.  She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Christine Busby, and daughter, Merry Jane Watkins, 5 sisters: Lily, Nadine, Gladys, Laraine and Josephine; 3 grandchildren: Robert Marsh, Donnie Holiday and Baby Cox; and her parents.

 

She is survived by her children: Wanda Holiday, Richard Howard Busby, Harold Lee Busby, Julia Ann Mcknight, Leonard Busby, Cindy Taylor von Aschwege, Bryan Cox and Donnie Cox; 20 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, extended family and friends. 

 

  Billie Lucille Glover was born in Enid, Oklahoma on June 30th, 1922 to mother, Eliza Williams and father, William Alvin Glover.  She attended high school in Claremore, Oklahoma where she met and then married, Howard Lex Busby, the couple had 8 children.

 

Later in life she met and married Bud Cox and had 2 more children, she raised her grandchildren Sharlene Lee and Amber Friton.

 

Billie enjoyed fishing, if she ran out of sinkers she would wrap a line around a rock and cast it in, gardening, she had the most beautiful roses and other flowers, cooking, and baking. You could always expect the most delicious cheesecakes, lemon bars, and the absolute best pie crusts. Every year it was a special treat to have the most delectable divinity ever made around the holidays. She was also good at crocheting, embroidery, sewing and quilting. She made her own jewelry and enjoyed music.

 

All who knew Billie loved and cherished her and will miss her dearly.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020, 12:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home Chapel, 2103 East 3rd Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104.
