Obituary

Brenda Kay Lalla, a 56-year old insurance agent of Inola, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Brenda was born June 11, 1954 in Porum, Oklahoma. Her father was George Samuel Lee McElhaney and her mother is Maggie Birdtail. She loved traveling with her husband, Arthur with whom she traveled the world. It was nothing for them to jump on a plane and go some place for a weekend. She loved to laugh and her laughter was contagious. She brought light and laughter into every room she entered. She was the definition of the life of the party. The party got started when she arrived. She could always make you laugh. Brenda is survived by her mother, Maggie McElhaney of Vian, OK; her husband of 28 years, Arthur Lalla of Inola, OK; three children: Crystal Jensen (Josh), Andrina Ashe (Matthew), and Arthur Lalla Jr. (Samantha); four grandchildren: Mikayla Calico, Mia Jensen, Marlie Ashe, and Alia Ashe; five sisters: Lucille Smith of Tulsa, OK, Nancy Thomas of Muldrow, OK, Ida Comtois of Oklahoma City, OK, Jessie Still of Stillwell, OK, and Lola Wright of Vian, OK; four brothers: Albert McElhaney of Vian, OK, Jerry McElhaney of Vian, OK, Silas McElhaney of Vian, OK, and Clifford McElhaney of Vian, OK; aunt: Susie; uncle: Lee; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loving family and wonderful friends. She was preceded by her father and six brothers: John, Lee, Loyd, Joe, Jimmy Claude, and Baby Sam. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home located at 2103 E. 3rd Street, Tulsa, OK 74104. Her funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel located at 2103 E. 3rd Street, Tulsa, OK 74104.

  1. Brenda embodied the words 'Live, Love, Laugh'. She loved life, her friends, her family . She traveled the world and many of us traveled vicariously listening to her tell about her trips and seeing her pictures. She built up treasure in Heaven-she made that known, but with all she had seen and done, her most valued earthly treasure was her family-

    Brenda was part of the Metlife family and that is how she is remembered–family. She was always ready for a good laugh and was ready for a joke. I find if very difficult to say good-bye to this wonderful lady. She will be missed but not forgotten.
