Brenda Bell entered this world on March 8, 1944, born to Ruby Brown and Frank “Buddy” Bell. As the 2nd eldest of Ruby’s seven children, she grew into a natural leader—gentle, steady, and full of quiet strength. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1962, and soon began a meaningful career at St. John’s Medical Center, where her caring nature fit effortlessly.

On July 27, 1963, Brenda married the love of her life, Don. Their bond carried them through life’s biggest challenges, including Don’s drafting into the Vietnam War. When he returned home, they built a life grounded in faith, devotion, and family. They were blessed with two children: their son, Donald Jr., in 1973, and their daughter, Brandi, in 1980.

Brenda worked tirelessly—first doing domestic work while her children were young, later fulfilling her call as a certified caregiver. Her compassion for others could be felt in everything she did. In her quiet moments, you could often find her reading the Bible or writing poetry. Her love for the Lord was unmistakable. She cherished all of Psalm 24, though verse 1 held a special place in her heart.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children, Donnie (Acquanetta) and Brandi (Justin). Her grandchildren—Daria, Amiri, Donald III, Brenden, and Davin—will forever remember the warmth, the hugs, and the cookies she always had ready just for them.

Brenda is also survived by her siblings Delzener, Tracy, Reenay, and Arnell, each of whom carries memories of her wisdom, her laughter, and the guidance she offered so freely. She now rejoins in peace her parents, as well as her brothers Robert, Leamon, and Thomas, who passed before her.

Brenda’s life was a testament to faith, love, and giving without hesitation. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her impact will remain in every life she touched.
