Obituary

Brian Joseph Beck left this earth September 5, 2022 at the age of 44.

 

Brian was born December 14, 1977 in Ames Iowa.  He leaves behind his parents: mother, Rebecca Ward and father, Larry Beck; sister, Renee Beck Klimisch; brother-in-law, Matthew Klimisch; nephew, Quinn Klimisch; niece Kate Klimisch; maternal grandmother, Alice Engelbrecht, fiancé, Jacrall Wilson, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Pets and many friends that were like family to him.

Brian grew up in Sioux City, Iowa.  In his youth he was very active in sports including representing the state as a member of the Iowans baseball team.  He graduated from Blessed Sacrament and Bishop Heelan High School where he participated in tennis, track, basketball, football, and baseball.  Brian attended Morningside University on a baseball scholarship graduating with a B.S. in Business and Finance.  He then joined the Coast Guard serving as search and rescue and rebuilding of ship channels after Hurricane Katrina and Rita.  Due to his outstanding service and achievements, he was selected by the Presidential Committee to represent the United States Coast Guard at the Inauguration of the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush.

After discharge from Service, Brian settled in Western Arkansas.  He was Vice President of LJB Construction.  He also invested in and remodeled real estate and was co-owner of Calihan Cattle Company.  Most recently, Brian was working in the residential landscape industry in Tulsa, Ok.

Brian enjoyed traveling, attending sporting events and concerts.  He loved listening to music and being anywhere on the water.  He was an avid Notre Dame football fan, Razorback baseball fan, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.  Brian loved all animals and had a soft spot for bulldogs and baby bulls.

Brian is proceeded in death by his two grandfathers, paternal grandmother, uncle, and cousin.

Brian was an amazing friend and companion with a huge heart and genuine concern and care for others.   He lived his life in service to his family, friends, animals, and his country.  He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service to honor the life of Brian Beck will be held September 19, 2022 at 2pm Sharp Chapel @ 800 S. Tucker Drive, Tulsa OK.   In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals or any charity of your choice.

  1. Dear Larry and Becky and family: I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved son, Brian. I can imagine the turmoil and pain you’re going through because I lost my beautiful daughter, Lyn in January of 2021 when she was just 52 and President of a community college.
    For each hour of your loneliness, I wish you a day of comfort; For each minute of grief, a year of peace; And for every tear, a thousand reasons to smile.
    I’m thinking of you during this sad time and hoping that warm memories will ease your sadness and comfort your heart.
