Obituary

Calvin Dean Carpenter passed away February 1, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born January 18, 1936 in Tulsa to Charles E. and Ann J. Carpenter.Calvin was better known to his family as “Big C”. He asked to be called Big C after his first grandchild gave him the nickname. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were all loved and extremely important to him. Big C just discovered the love of a family he never knew growing up. He found two sisters and two brothers, one of which are deceased. The three living siblings came to his side during the time of sickness and stayed with him while God prepared his home in Heaven.Big C graduated from Holy Family Catholic School in 1953. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953, spending three years and earning a National Defense Service Medal. He was an avid Oklahoma State Cowboys fan and his playful banter with his family and friends for his “underdog team” will be missed. Big C’s legacy will live on in his family scrapbooks, his beautiful hand penned letters to family and friends, and also in their hearts. We will miss you Big C.Calvin is preceded in death by his parents: Ann J. and Charles E. Carpenter. Survivors include his daughter: Eydie M. Berry and husband Frank; sons: Cacy E.
