Carole Pierce2/19/1943 – 12/26/2019Carole Marguerite Booker Pierce left her earthly home on December 26, 2019, at the age of 76 surrounded by family and friends.She was born to Verne Murray Booker and RW (Pete) Booker on February 19, 1943, San Diego, California. Carole married Robert Lee Pierce on May 6, 1962. The marriage lasted until his death in 2002. Carole taught school for over 40 years. She was dedicated to the future of public education and teachers’ rights. Carole moved back to the family farm in 2014. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many animals and high school friends in addition to the many teachers she befriended during her long career. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Antlers, Oklahoma, and also attended Hall Community Freewill Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by spouse, Robert Lee Pierce; parents, Verne Murray Booker and RW (Pete) Booker; grandparents, Ludie and Dee Murray and WT and Susan Booker; and special grandfather James Loman. She is survived by daughters Rhonda Pierce; Randye Thompson and spouse Robbie Thompson; granddaughters Bailee Muller and Amanda Muller. Carole was cremated at Butler-Stumpff in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At her request, there will be no formal memorial services. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the Humane Society, the SPCA, or a local animal shelter.
