Obituary

Carolyn Esther Harlin, lovingly known as “Carol,” was called home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Levi Walter Harlin, Sr. and Nolan “Suga” Harlin.

Carol was a proud graduate of Claremore High School, Class of 1966. During her high school years, she was actively involved in many organizations and activities, including Pep Club, Music, and Chorus, where she was honored as a Chorus Queen Attendant. She was also a member of FHA, FBLA, and FTA. Her senior class picture caption beautifully reflected her gentle spirit: “Whose life is a bubble and in length a span.”

Following high school, Carol attended cosmetology school, where she continued to develop her creativity and her gift for caring for others. Throughout her life, she had a natural ability to make people feel special and loved.

Carol’s life was filled with faith, family, kindness, and service. Carol found great joy in singing and treasured the opportunity to share her beautiful voice through choir. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she faithfully led and participated in weekly Bible Study at Country Club Gardens, where she was honored to serve as the designated reader for the group.

Carol was a devoted mother to her daughter, Connie Sierson, and her son, Levi “Traye” Harlin, III. She found great joy in being a grandmother to Isaiah, Isis, and Zion. Carol was incredibly proud of each of them and treasured her role as “Granny.” She loved hearing about their many activities, accomplishments, and adventures and celebrated each moment with them.

Carol later made her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she resided at Country Club Gardens until her passing. She became a beloved member of the community and formed many special friendships. She loved participating in the many activities offered at the senior living center, where she was deeply cared for and loved. She had a heart for helping others and brought joy, encouragement, and kindness to those around her.

Carol enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including completing word search puzzles and enjoying one of her favorite meals—fried chicken. To know Carol was to love her. She displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a contagious smile that brightened the lives of everyone around her. She was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Levi Walter Harlin, Sr. and Nolan “Suga” Harlin; and her brothers, Levi Harlin, Jr. and Larry Harlin.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Johnson (Stanley); sister-in-law, Loretta Harlin, and members of her extended family, Brenda Harlin; her children, Connie Sierson and Levi “Traye” Harlin, III; her grandchildren, Isaiah, Isis, and Zion; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

Carol leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness, and cherished memories that will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
