Obituary

On January 27, 1947, John Wesley Love and Kathryn Triggs welcomed into this world a beautiful son, Charles Edward Love. Although he was named Charles he was affectionately nicknamed from family and friends. He would answer to, “Squitchum”, “TC”, “Top Cat” and “Crow.” Whatever name he was called, it was all in love. Growing up as a young boy in Boynton, Oklahoma, Charles was educated in the Boynton School system. In the country, there were things as a young boy he quickly fell in love with and one was being drawn to horses. He could be called a “horse wrangler” and this passion would span over a sixty year period. In the early 70’s heeding the call of duty, Charles joined the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Upon completion of his service to the Army, he was honorably discharged and returned to Oklahoma. After his return to Oklahoma, Charles met and married the love of his life, Ira Jean Johnson in 1975. To this union two sons were born, Charles Love, Jr. and Bryan Alan Love.Charles began a career with the Tulsa County Highway Maintenance Dist. 2 in the late 70’s. He was a dedicated worker; believing in the value of hard work. After over twenty-five years of service, Charles decided on retirement in 2005. With the thought of enjoying his golden years with his beautiful wife after retirement, his dream was cut short after the death of Ira Jean in September of 2009. He was left to embrace her memory until they would meet again. His life was a life well lived and a race well ran. His love and compassion and service to this country will forever live with us. He journeyed well and ended victoriously. Meeting him at Heaven’s Gate will be his parents, Kathryn Triggs and John Wesley Love; his wife, Ira Jean (Johnson) Love.Cherishing the legacy he leaves behind are his sons, Derrick, Charles “Bippy” Love, Jr. and Bryan Love; God-daughter, Deleah “Muffy” Canady; three grandchildren, Alex “Chubb”, Jourdin “J-Money” and Imani; a uncle Harold Triggs; aunt, Irene Freeman; Two special cousins, Wanda Barnett and Deborah Crane; A special daughter in law, Tonika; father figure, Charles Pearson; a real friend, Larry Brown; and special friend, Regina Rucker and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
