Obituary
Darlene Sockey, a longtime resident of Tahlequah and Park Hill and a recent resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020, surrounded by children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was born to Walton and Lucille Tefertiller Sockey in Borger, Texas, on November 16th, 1948. She spent her younger years in Oklahoma City, going to what was then Classen High School. She later attended Bacone College in Muskogee, OK, where she became a skilled seamstress and silversmith. It was her beadwork and loomwork for which she was best known. She loved her animals, especially her kitties. She also enjoyed going bingo, casinos, and yard sales. She loved watching the movie Jeremiah Johnson. But most of all she loved spending time with her great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother Richard Sockey and sister Suzanne Sockey. She is survived by son Chris (Chad) Tillack, daughter Surella Nimsey, son Chase (Rocky) Sockey, and daughter Jolene Roberts; grandchildren Rosalene Danell Nimsey, Kin Buchanan, Kailen Lashae Wackerly, Steven Rader Gourd, Preston Traeh Gourd, Lily Annette Drywater, Carolyn Ann Drywater, and Anthony and Janell Tillack; great grandkids Roman Ace Gerald Degase, Cloe Rosalyn Degase, and Ricardo Dale Degase.
She will be greatly missed by many who loved her. Due to circumstances, the family held a small, private service.
