Obituary
Davis Sommers Carson, 90, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away March 5, 2013 in Tulsa. Davis was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 6, 1922 to Ralph Gerald Carson and Katherine Bartholomew Davenport Carson. Davis was an attorney; he served in the United States Marine Corps and was a 33rd Degree Mason. Davis also was proudly an Olympic swimmer in the Senior Olympics. He is survived by his children: Sandy Barrington (Roger), Jana Burnside (Joe) and Russell Carson (Betsy); grandchildren: Laura Wilson (Craig), Boone Burnside, Neely Burnside, Blake Burnside, Joseph Carson, and Leah McClain (Kevin); great grandchildren: Finn, Liam, Brooke, Jesse and sister in law, Beverly Carson. Davis is preceded in death by his son, Steven Sommers Carson; wife: Katherine Holland Carson; and siblings: Katherine Crittenden, Kainor Carson and Corine Blair. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 4pm-6pm at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Monday, March 11, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church.
