Obituary

Our beloved sister, Deanna Lynn Brady finished her journey on this side of Eternity on March 4, 2012 after a brave battle with cancer. Deanna was born on May 27, 1949 in Monahans, Texas. She loved to collect many different things including key chains and Elvis memorabilia. Deanna was good at crafts too, especially making greeting cards for every occasion. How we cherish those cards she made! Deanna taught us many things, mostly how to simply love and enjoy family and life without reservation. Her unique and innocent perspectives will be greatly missed. Deanna is survived by her sisters, Sherrii Getz of Ft. Collins Colorado and Barbara Henderson of Lindsay Oklahoma, and her brother and sister in law with whom she lived, Stacey and Barbara Hardin. Also her “Big Mom”, Barbara Hodgson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, June D. Hardin. Matt 18:1-4 (NLT) the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Her funeral will be held at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home, 2103 East Third Street, Tulsa Oklahoma on Thursday March 8 at 10:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tulsa Advocates for the Rights of Citizens with Developmental Disabilities: TARC 2516 East 71st St., Suite A Tulsa, OK 74136-5531 Condolences may be sent through the guestbook on this page.

  1. I will never understand why the good have to die so young! I loved growing up with you and all of the great memories we had in our family together! Like that one time Terry ate the last bite of food! And you reached out to open her mouth to get it from her! It was so funny you had us all laughing so hard and the look on grandma's face was so priceless! You have been such a big blessing to our family and i think you have touched all of our hearts in so many ways. I will always keep you close to my mine. I love the sweet amazing beautiful girl you are and will see you again one day. Lots of love to you. Give my love to all of our loved one's for me! Xoxo

  2. Love you! Big Mom

  3. Our deepest sympathies on the loss of Deanna Brady. Please offer a favorite memory of Deanna on this memorial to share more of her life experiences with family and friends.

  4. You can shed tears that Deanna is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. I love you Deanna You were the BEST person I have ever known!
