Obituary

Deborah Jewel Dillion Hendrix Willemstein, 69, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away November 6, 2020 in Tulsa. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Friday, November 13, 2020 at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 10:00am-8:00pm at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hendrix Willemstein was born April 18, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was raised in Tulsa, graduating from Tulsa Central in 1969. She married Sam Hendrix in 1970 and they lived in Tulsa for a few years before moving to Sand Springs. That is where they raised their two boys, Sammy Joe and Damon. In 1998 they moved back to the Tulsa area. In 2010 she and Sam decided the end their 40-year marriage. She stayed single for a few years and during this time she worked a lot and if you know Debbi, she never stopped. She also traveled and spent time with family and friends. In 2016 she and Craig started dating and she felt like she met someone that would help complete her life. They married in June 2017.

She started sewing at a very young age with her Mom. Her love and passion grew over the years. She became a master seamstress, pattern maker and she also developed an education program for B-Sew Inn. She was known nationwide for her teaching skills on the Baby Lock sewing machines. She created a stitch that you could make lace on the Baby Lock machine. She taught many friends and family members her art of sewing. She was an amazing friend and keeper of secrets. She was always someone you could call when you needed a shoulder, friend, counselor or prayer warrior. She always had a pearl of wisdom when you needed one. She would fight when she had to. She was the kind of person that we all try to be, and she was an amazing person that we all were blessed to call family.

Debbi was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Lee Dillion; mother, Dorotha Lee Dillion; brother-in-law, Mike Kier and granddaughter, Lauren Faith Hanlon.

Survivors include her husband, Craig Willemstein of Tulsa. First husband, Sam Hendrix of Porter; sons, Sammy Joe Hendrix II and wife, Donnis their children, Devin and Dusti of Tulsa, Damon Hendrix and his wife, Julia their children, Skylar, Karma, Trenton, Abbigail and Raelynn of Mannford. The new marriage added two daughters, Samantha Hanlon and her husband, Stephen and their children, Kaitlyn, Hailey and Kaylee of Sand Springs, Rebecca Whitcraft and her husband, Kaleb and their daughter, Alexis; siblings, Theresa Dillion of Tulsa, Laura Claghorn and her husband, Keith of The Woodlands, Texas; nephews, Eric Claghorn and his wife, Nichola and their son, Baxter of Spring, Texas, Blair Claghorn of The Woodlands, Texas, Dustin Claghorn and his children, Cannan and Bruin of Spring, Texas; many other aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of others that had the opportunity to encounter her wisdom and gentle demeaner.

Everyone is welcome to attend the service, however services will also be available via live stream at 2:00pm, Friday, November 13, 2020.
