Her Life Story

The book of life was opened on November 13, 1989 for Deemecia Latice Ballard. She was the sixth of seven children.

Deemecia was a beautiful, happy baby girl, full of life. Deemecia accepted Christ as her Savior at a very early age. She was unique in her own special way; she was smart, energetic, and loved challenges. She was the first girl to play tackle football for the North Mabee Center, where she dominated the field. She attended Tulsa Public Schools and while there she accomplished great things.

Deemecia was the life of the party; she loved dancing; although she couldn’t. She was a joyful person who brought laughter and happiness to everyone that came in contact with her.

Deemecia met the love of her life, Dion “Mookie” and had two handsome sons that she loved more than anything. Her Patterson boys were her world. Anyone that knew her; knew how much she talked about her better half, Mookie, and how he loved her and the boys.

On December 30, 2016, Deemecia’s journey came to an end and the book of life was closed; God called her home to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother: Agnes Hankins; grandmother: Vivian Hankins and grandfather: Alfred Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, fiancé: Dion Sr.; sons: Dion Jr., and Decorijon; mother: Vetrice (Willie) Woods; brothers: Ricky (Ethita), Brandon, Corejon (Shamika), Lawrence Jr., LaKeith Love and Willie Woods, Jr.; sisters: Ebony, Regina, Tamika Covington and Kyesha McClendon, and best friend Carmen Oliver along with a host of friends and family.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dear loved one. Please accept my condolences at this painful time. Losing a loved one is distressing and as comfort is needed from family and friends, we have assurance from the Bible that "death will be swallowed up forever" at Isaiah 25:8. It is my hope your family will find strength to endure during the days ahead.
