Obituary

Delma Faye Starr Long was born October 5, 1937, in Tahlequah Oklahoma. She was one of eight girls born to the union of Delmar and Castella Starr. She along with her sisters was a member of and baptized at Antioch Baptist church in Tahlequah. She was known for singing and playing the piano. Crowned “Miss Music” at Ft. Gibson High School. She met and married Harold Long, and to that union were born three children. Delma was known to family as “Faye” to close friends as “Mrs. Long.” Delma was a thoughtful friend, sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother. Loved ones left to reflect on her life/legacy are three sisters, Rose Mary Jones, of Houston Texas; Shirley Ann Anderson, and Marva Jo Moreland of Oklahoma City; three children, Harold L. Long Jr. of L.A., California, Neal Long of Denver, Colorado, and Jackie Long of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Emily Olubunmi and her husband Tola Olubunmi of Tulsa, and Phillip of Colorado; a very dear friend Mary Lois, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, 10:00 am, August 2, 2011, at the Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home chapel located at 2103 E. 3rd Street, Tulsa, OK 74104.
