Obituary

Donna was born in a small town in Missouri. Not long after her family moved out west to Blythe, Ca. At the age of 13 she gave her life to God and dedicated herself to His services. God called her to preach at the age of 14. At the age of 15 she met her husband of 66 years James Carl Mills and they were married three months later on March 26,1953. They had four children. It wasn’t long till the family began to travel across America and Old Mexico spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and song. Donna hosted hundreds of revivals some lasting weeks preaching the gospel to countless multitudes with many souls saved, healing of all kinds, deliverance and many other miracles. This was during the 60’s and 70’s. She was a dynamic preacher, singer and song writer and she continued on going wherever God called her even after her children started families of their own. In Corsicana, TX. while holding a revival the Mayor presented her with the Key to the City. She had such a free spirit and was not afraid of anything. She always said, “With the power and authority of God, she could go bear hunting with a switch. She lit up any room she stepped into. She was the life of the party and could always make you laugh. Her faith was so strong and you could feel the love of God radiate through her. She was selfless and she loved the unlovable. She was truly an amazing woman. HER FAMILY WAS HER TREASURE.

She is survived by her loving husband James Mills, her 4 children and their spouses and her 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her oldest daughter Yvonne Mills Curtis and Randy, Her son Rick Mills and his son Jeremey Mills and Tracy and their children Zoe and Sophie. Her middle daughter Sherry Mills Ashworth and Joseph and their children Eric Ashworth and Shawn Ashworth and Eliza and their children Abigail, Jacelynn and Skyla. Her youngest daughter Debbie Mills Zambrano and her children Lacey Machado Mayhew and her children Angel and A.J., Tiffany Zambrano Ramos and her husband Seth, and Lance Zambrano.

  1. Aunt Donna you will be greatly missed. You were always so sweet and loving. My oldest daughter always said you were always glamorous looking she is so broken hearted

  2. Sister Mills was such a joy! We spent many days and nights laughing and enjoying the presence of the Lord. When Deborah was small we use to go join in on some services when we were not in revival ourselves and she use to do the Boof of Parables. Wed be standing in the parking lot laughing and laughing and just enjoying each others company. Sister Mills is home at last. Around the Throne enjoying all the joys she talked about, preached about and dreamed about. It is now a reality!! God bless and be with you and your family. One day soon well meet again around Gods big family table and sit down and talk it all over…love you all!!

  3. Though I never had the privilege of meeting her, her family is a testament of her love of God.

  4. Ernestine says:

It is heartbreaking to lose a loved one to death. Soon God's perfect government will rule over mankind (Matthew 6:10) Those in the memorial tombs will be resurrected (John 5:28,29) and death will be no more (Revelation 21:4) We will live forever here on earth in abundance n peace (Psalm 37:11,29)Sincere condolence and deepest sympathy.

  5. I saw Donna for years during her work as a MH escort. She was vivacious and extremely good at her job. She will surely be missed.
