Obituary

Dorothy Jean Marang (Earhart) was born March 12, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She passed at the age of 88 on March 31, 2017 in her hometown. A loving mother of three, Dorothy was actively engaged in girl scouts, bowling, postcard collecting, homemaking, and making clothes for her daughters. She loved music and was involved with local radio personalities. Beyond popular music, Dorothy also loved Gospel music, a reflection of her unwavering faith in Christ. Many times she and her husband “Shorty” took in friends and relatives in hard times. In resources, she was humble. In love she was rich.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband “Shorty” Alvin Okie Marang; sister, Pauline Davis; brother, Kenneth Rogers; and grandson, Scott Searcy. Dorothy is survived by her brother Jerry Rogers; sister, Joann Jumper; daughters, B.J. Searcy, Ava Kramer, and Charla Turner; grandchildren, Mark Searcy, Michael Searcy, Colby Dixon, Caleb Kramer and Heather Turner; great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Madeline, Matthew, Michael, Maggie and Abby.Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to Clarehouse Tulsa 7617 S.
