Obituary

Edgar W. Woodson Jr, born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 4, 1953 and went to be with the Lord May 23, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Rejoice in the Lord always!  Again I say rejoice. Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.  Philippians 4: 4-5.  We rejoice in remembering Ed.  Being born on Independence Day, Ed was known as Cracker by his family and close friends. He was the original Uncle Cracker. In 1985 he followed in his father’s footsteps and joined American Airlines as an airline mechanic, later he always said “he didn’t have a job but a position” as a Tech Crew Chief. He loved his work at American Airlines and his work family, who he remained in touch with after retirement in January of 2020. After retirement Ed was facing and conquering many health challenges. His trust in the Lord and his family carried him through these challenges and he was looking forward to buying the property of his dreams to build his legacy for his family.

He was preceded in death his parents Edgar and Anna Marie Woodson, Sr., sister Nancy Williams and sister, Betty Stroud.  He is survived by his wife Cynthia Woodson, sister, Terry Mills, and his adopted Ugandan daughter Annet and her husband Fred and two grandchildren Eddie and Jaeden and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, a great great nephew, cousins and his American Airlines family.  He grew up attending Memorial Christian Church and was an active member of Journey Bible Church. A Celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future for his family and friends and one specifically for his American Airlines family. All will announced. Ed loved his Ugandan daughter Annet with all his heart. He would want to benefit the orphanage that helped him raise this godly young woman. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Blessing the Children’s Ministries in his name. Look at BTCM.org to see the quality ministry it is.  BTCM, Lockbox Department 240 PO Box 701683, Tulsa OK 74170
