Obituary

On January 25, 1915 a baby girl was born to Clark and Willie Johnson and they named her Geneva Maxine Johnson. She attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1937. After high school she attended beauty school, graduating in 1943. In 1944 she married Lonnie E. Perkins and to this union a daughter and son were born. Geneva was a faithful longtime member of Mt. Rose Baptist Church. Upon retiring, she volunteered at Central Library received volunteer of the year in 1968. Geneva passed away December 17, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lonnie E. Perkins; seven sisters and three brothers. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter: Sandra J. Thurman (James); son: Clifford Perkins (Carol); grandsons: Jeff Thurman (Courtney), Clifford Perkins, Jr., Corbin Perkins; granddaughter: Chisa D. Chapman, four great-grandchildren; Niece: Lullen Mack and nephew: Norman Walker.

    Ms. Perkins You were always so kind to me as a kid at Mt. Rose. I last saw you one year when I came home to visit (Tulsa). I remember Sandra and Clifford. May God continue to shine on you
