Obituary

Gerald Leon Hendricks, 64, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away October 2, 2016. He was born November 1, 1951 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Donn and Doris Hendricks.Gerald was a loving father who enjoyed coaching his children in soccer when they were young. If he wasn’t coaching he was taking care of the fields or reffing a game. Gerald worked several years at Braden Manufacturing. He was an amazing welder, often welding things for the soccer fields. Once he made all new bleachers for the club and delivered them in the middle of the night so no one knew had made them. He loved the game of soccer. Gerald was always playing a prank on someone. Jenny has fond memories of Gerald filling your purse with McDonald’s ketchup packets when you looked away, saran wrapping your car and you could always find pool cue chalk in your hoodie hood. If he played tricks on you there was no doubt that he liked you. His nephew tells stories of what an amazing hunter and fisherman Gerald was. Almost everyone in the family has a loving memory of hunting or fishing with Gerald. Gerald also loved all things trains, gardening and always had an ice cream bar ready when grandkids came by. He was a very compassionate and caring father, grandfather and friend. Gerald will be greatly missed.Gerald is preceded in death by his father: Donn Hendricks; mother: Doris Hendricks: brother: Robert Hendricks; sister: Ginger Knack and long time partner: Kelly Lipp.Survivors include his daughters: Jenny (Rocky) Roberts, Katie (Steve) Hendricks, Jesse Hendricks; grandchildren: Christian Hendricks, Julia Roberts, Ava Roberts, Tate Roberts, Olivia Hendricks; sisters Donna (Bill) Kidwell, Brenda Hosman; brother: Donn Hendricks along with other loving family and friends.
