Obituary

Gerard Busten was born on September 10, 1943, in Tulsa, OK, to Harry and Mildred Busten.  He passed away on May 6, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.

Gerard grew up in Tulsa, OK, and joined the Tulsa Police Department in 1967.  He began his career as a motorcycle officer, and retired as a K~9 officer in 1997.  He had the privilege of training and working with Tulsa’s first explosive detection dog.  After retiring from the department, he took up his hobby of driving a semi truck for the next 25 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Busten of Tulsa, OK; one grandson, Cody Titterington of Tulsa; one sister, Carolyn Hill of Tulsa.
