Obituary

Verchere, Gertrude “Gertie” Elizabeth, 98, passed away September 21, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gertie was born September 20, 1912 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Otis and Frances (Hill) Brown. She spent her life working as a loving homemaker. Gertie is survived by two brothers: Jessie and Lindy Gene Brown; sister-in-law: Geneva Brown, Phyllis Brown, Kathryn Platter and Stella Brown and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by: husband August Verchere; parents: Otis and Frances Brown; brothers and sisters: Dennis W. Brown, Grace Convir, Eula Belle Brown Morgan, Wanda DeWeese, Cecil Brown, Elda Brown, J.L. Brown and Otis Brown. Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:00pm in Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. Burial took place at Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa. Pallbearers were Ricky Hubanks, Larry Duck, Grant Watkins, Ronnie Brown, Glen Morgan and Perry Morgan, Jr. Honorary pallbears were Frantz DeWeese, Loy Dean Convirs, Mike Brown, Steve Brown, Stephen Foster and Tommy Brown. Vocalists included: Ralph Morgan, Pat Watkins, Sandra Duck and Linda Campbell.
