Obituary

Gladys LaVon Morgan, 87, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away May 4, 2019.

Gladys was born July 24, 1931 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Parks Black and Melba Black. Although she was raised in Oklahoma, Gladys lived throughout the North and Midwest. She resided from Washington State, Oregon, Montana, and Texas. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Gladys had a passion for creativity. She was a custom clothier and was recognized for her talent by receiving the Black Arts Festival Award. She loved fashion design, painting, and using her talents to be charitable by desiging specialty clothing for the handicapped. She touched many lives with her kindness and generosity.

Gladys is survived by her children: LaFern Scheulen, Freddy Wayne Mendenhall, David Ray Mendenhall, Stanly Paul Mendenhall, Stephen Keith Mendenhall, and Kevin Matthew Workman; grandchildren: Damon Ray, Danna Kay, Shannon Earl, Jackie Michelle, Pete Henry, Earnest Wayne, Layhoma Ann, Brian Lee, Margareta Lynn, Stephen Lee, Ryan James, and Autumn Leigh; great-grandchildren: Brooke Nichole, Morgan Michelle, Cassandra Dawn, Alyssa Marie, Chris, Elisabeth Ann, Garrick Chandler, Caleb, Andrew, Spencer Rose, Grayson Fox, Charlie and Ellie; great-great-grandchildren: Khloe Ryan, Braddy Ray, Brantley Robert, Ashlynn, Braelynn, Blayze, and Brinlee.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation for Gladys on Thursday, May 09, 2019 at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home Chapel, 2103 East 3rd Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
