Obituary

Hershel B. Hunter passed away from this life October 23, 2014 in Tulsa at age 91. Hershel was born November 20, 1922 to Andrew and Millie (Blackburn) Hunter in Charleston, Missouri. Hershel devoted his life to God, working as a minister. He is survived by his son Dennis Hunter (Fran) of Wichita, Kansas, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Hershel is preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 2004 and son Dave Hunter in 2012. Visitation for Hershel will be Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home from 1pm-6pm. Funeral Services are being held Monday, October 27, 2014 at Red Fork Church of God at 2:00pm, 3319 West 41st Street, Sand Springs, Oklahoma.     I already miss my friend, Hershel. He was the real thing…in love with Jesus. He was probably the most influential testimony to a generation of young people at Red Fork Church of God. When Hershel spoke, the young people listened because they knew his love for God was true. Thank you, dear Hershel, for overcoming the difficulties in life and continuing to testify to the goodness of God! It encouraged us all!
