We give thanks to God for the life of Jacqueline Carol Townsend, who was born on February 12, 1945. Her life was a blessing to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

On July 20, 2026, Jacqueline peacefully departed this life and entered into eternal rest. While her earthly journey has come to an end, we find comfort in God’s promise of everlasting life and rejoice in knowing she is now at peace in His loving presence.

Jacqueline was born and raised in Ashdown, Arkansas, to the late George Townsend and Earlee Adams. She was lovingly raised by her stepfather, L.C. Adams, and was the eldest of three children.

In 1960, Jacqueline’s family migrated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she continued her education and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1963. In 1964, she married Buford Brewer, who preceded her in death, and together they were blessed with two daughters.

Jacqueline accepted Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of Vernon A.M.E. Church. Throughout the years, she served with dedication and love as a member of the Stewardess Board, Choir, and Women’s Missionary Society. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and was reflected in the love and kindness she extended to others.

Affectionately known to many as “Jackie,” she was a dedicated, loyal, and steadfast professional. She began her career at Hillcrest Medical Center (HMC) in 1963 as a nurse aide and, through her commitment and determination, advanced to the role of Unit Manager. In 1997, she joined the Radiology Department, where she continued to serve with excellence until her retirement in 2008 after 44 years of faithful service.

Jacqueline’s greatest joy was her family. Those who were blessed by her presence and who continue to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Joycelyn Brewer and Carmen Brewer Love; her special son-in-law, Aaron Love; her sister, Deborah Blakely (Michael); and her brother, Rickey Adams (Donette).

She was lovingly known as “Memaw” by her grandchildren: ReNita, Paul, Corey, Justin, Jordan, Nicholas, Aaron (AJ), Cherrell, Maleaha, and Cameron, as well as her 20 great-grandchildren, whom she treasured deeply.

Jacqueline also leaves behind cherished nieces: Nicole, Michelle, Stephanie, Jasmine, and Rikki; special friends, including Virginia Foster, who preceded her in death, Clo Hill, and Brenda Brown.

Jackie’s life was a testament to faith, love, perseverance, and devotion. She leaves behind a host of family members, friends, and acquaintances whose lives were touched by her compassion, strength, and unwavering love.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure
