James Rose

April 16, 1930 - March 09, 2026

Obituary

James L. Rose was born on April 16, 1930, in Natural Dam, Arkansas, to Lemie and Faye Rose. He was born into a large family that faced many financial hardships. Although they had little materially, they shared an abundance of love for one another. Even as they grew older and started families of their own, they remained very close, often speaking with each other daily.

From a young age, James was ambitious and hardworking. He began working early to help support his family and later went on to become the owner of several successful plumbing businesses. He took great pride in his work and in teaching the trade to his sons.

James was known for his generous spirit. He always made sure his family was well taken care of and never hesitated to help someone in need. His kindness extended far beyond his family, as he would often help strangers and was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.

One of James’ greatest passions was his thoroughbred horses.

James lived a full and accomplished life, fulfilling many of his dreams—from traveling and raising a loving family to building and owning his own businesses.

On Monday, March 9, James passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 35 years, Annick, his children, Linda Burrows (Gordon), Mark Rose (Penny), and Bud Rose (Patty); stepchildren: Bryan and Chantal; his siblings, Margie, Clara, and Joyce; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended relatives, and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
