Obituary

Jerome Sanning Goettelman passed away on June 5, 2025 at at his home in Tulsa. He was 84. 

Jerry was born on Nov. 15, 1940 in Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Jane Goettelman (Dumont), his father, John Lloyd (Ole’ Pop) Goettelman, and his son Steven Llyod Goettelman.

Jerry enlisted in the US Marine Corps. In Dec. 1960, received a good conduct medal, and was honorably discharged in Nov. 1964.

Jerry believed in working hard all of his life. He started his own business in Tulsa, Jerry Goettelman General Contractor. He also owned several restaurants at different times, including the Sugar Shack, the Library Restaurant, and Valentino’s.

After he retired, his favorite hobbies later in life were traveling globally with his son Steve, and, as grandpa put it, “piddling” around the house or back yard.

Jerry leaves behind his grandson J.D. Goettelman, wife Jenny, and newborn great granddaughter Rose, granddaughter Amy Henderson, husband Jay, and great grandson Greyson, and grandson Joey Goettelman.

He will be truly missed by those who truly knew him. A private family memorial will be held in the back yard of his home.
