Obituary

Jerri Don Crofford entered this world as a twin August 8, 1930, on Lookout Mountain to Sadie Ellen Crofford and Elton Crofford Sr., one of eight siblings. Jerri married Shirley Dowling, and they recently celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary. Being a jack-of-all-trades and the “go to guy,” his professions included: butcher, master carpenter, truck driver, machinist, and locksmith. He founded JD Lock and Key in 1974, and operated it for over thirty-five years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping, as well as bowling and golf. He also was a Sunday school teacher and played the bass guitar at his church for many years. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, son and daughter, Tom Crofford and Linda Crofford-Harness, three grandsons, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Jerri peacefully left this world, surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 2012 at 1:00pm at Century Cathedral. Condolences may be sent through the guestbook on this page.
