Obituary

Jerry “Dusty” Theodore Rhodes was born on August 18, 1936 in Dewar, Oklahoma to Samuel and Loretta Rhodes.

Jerry was a dedicated letter carrier with the United States Postal Service for 36 years. In his free time, he volunteered with the Red Shield Boys Club of Tulsa. His passion was his faith. He was a Bible teacher, church leader, avidly studied End-time Prophecy, loved Southern Gospel music, and proudly shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jerry also enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, carpentry and gardening.

Jerry was a very generous and loving man and will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, loving wife of 58 years, Bette Joann Rhodes, siblings: Samuel Jr., Eugene, James, and Billy Joe; sons: Ronald Wayne Rhodes and Roger Lynn Rhodes.

Left to cherish his memory include his son, Randall Eric Rhodes and wife Cammie; daughter-in-law, Janet Rhodes; grandson, Jeremy (Sofia) Rhodes; granddaughters: Jaime Velazquez, Julie Southerland (Justin), and Jeanette Haylock (Elroy); great grandchildren: Daniel Velazquez, Dylan Velazquez, Emma Rhodes, Kelley Velazquez, Elsa Rhodes, Jeffrey Velazquez, Eric Michael Rhodes, Gunner Ray Southerland, and Hannah Grace Southerland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Rhodes will be held on Monday, December 2, from 3 pm-8 pm, at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 East 3rd Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd, 11:00 a.m., at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Memorial services will follow on Tuesday, December 3rd, 3:00 p.m., at Eastwood Baptist Church, 948 South 91st East Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74112.
