Obituary
Jimmie De Arman died peacefully at home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Jim was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on April 6, 1944, to Floyd and Lillian DeArman.
After graduating from U.S. Grant High School in Oklhoma. City, he attended what is now UCO with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
Jim worked as a Land Man in Wyoming, Colorado, and Oklahoma for 43 years. When judging a Chili Cook-off in Gillette, WY in 2003, he met a fellow judge, Kim Pekkala. They relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma and were married on November 22, 2008. When Jim married Kim, not only was he a loving husband but a nurturing guide to her children and grandchildren. He was a good balance for their family. Luckily, Jim enjoyed animals because his new family always had a cat, dogs, sugargliders or ferrets.
Jim’s snarky sense of humor and love of life led him on many adventures, boating, camping, floating, and horse back riding.
Jim purchased Keels Lounge in Tulsa for his wife because he loved the shuffle board table. He enjoyed introducing others to the shuffle board table.
Jim will be remembered by his friends and family for his kindness, gentleness and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Paxton.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kim; his sister Cheryl Avery (James); Kim’s children Kristina Mundy, Corey Mundy (Lori), Nicholas Mundy (Alejandra), and Spencer Mundy (Natasha). Mr Jim was a great friend to me and taught me a lot about being a Landman. Thank you for all the years of council and friendship that I will truly miss.

Jimmie was born on my mother's birthday. Jimmie brought her a single rose during our teen years and always teased her and charmed her into a kiss on the cheek. He had the sweetest mother, too. She adored Jimmie. We all did. Our prayers are with your family.
