Obituary
JJ Pearl was born on July 9, 1979 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away on October 10, 2023.
JJ was truly a kindhearted person. He cared for those around him, including animals. He had a soft spot for animals of any kind. JJ enjoyed watching movies and playing the guitar. For some time, JJ was a part of different bands with his friends and his brother Joey.
JJ started out doing security around 2010, where he was often posted at the employee entrance of OTC/ City Hall. He then moved to the DCC Public Safety Ambassador program. He was the lead PSA and had a great influence on the program and its growth. JJ eventually began to work downtown with it’s residents, visitors, and unhoused population doing security.
JJ’s job released a statement regarding his passing, in the statement they mention his hard work and compassion. His job goes on to explain how he has done more for the unhoused persons here in Tulsa than many. JJ was recognized by two TPD Chiefs for his ability to locate people because JJ made it a point to know every person on the streets in Tulsa. This is a great way to describe the person he is. Kind, compassionate, hard working and caring. He was dedicated to making a difference and helping people when and where he could.
