Obituary

John D. Thomason, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. John was born in Boone County, Arkansas on November 29, 1921 to Harmon B. and Alice (Grogan) Thomason. After graduating from Ridgeway High School in Arkansas, his family moved to California to look for work during the great depression and the dust bowl. When World War II broke out, John enlisted in the United States Navy where he served in the Atlantic and Pacific Campaign. After the war he met and married the love of his life, Winnie Walker. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. John worked for Carnation Milk Company for 27 years until his retirement. After Winne passed away, John and his long time friend Ray Drury would take fishing trips to Ft. Gibson. They would go up to 3-4 times a week. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him. John is preceded in death by his parents; wife Winnie Lynetta Thomason; four brothers; four sisters and grandson: Niles Thomason. He is survived by children: Johnny Thomason, Matthew Thomason, Christina Pue; grandchildren: Michelle Lee, Stacey Sharpe, Michael Pue, Corrie Phillips, Jennifer Thomason, Scott Thomason and Joshua Thomason; great grandchildren: Wyatt Lee, Madeline Lee, Ethan Sharpe, Elizabeth Sharpe, Carter Thomason, Owen Phillips and Waite Phillips.
