Obituary

Dad was born & raised in Tahlequah Oklahoma, married Mom, Jan 28, 1967, at Newtiwn UMC, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, & lived in Tulsa til his passing Jan 9, 2020.

Drafted into the US ARMY, 1964; Dad was stationed in South Korea, served as a field mechanic & was honorably discharged August 31, 1967.

A machinist for 32 years at Tulsa Screw Products Co. retiring in 1998.

Hobbies included car mechanics, watching old black & white movies, westerns & lots of football. His favorite teams: Dallas Cowboys & Oklahoma Sooners.  BOOMER!

He was not a member, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t serve; Dad attended Tulsa Indian UMC with Mom & faithfully served in many duties: Food Bank attendant, church van driver, cashier at fundraising dinners, Easter egg hider & champion egg-tosser.

Dad was baptized by Rev Larry Robinson at St Johns Hospital in 2019.

He was a seasoned  car mechanic with a slight bias towards Chevys. His great car accomplishment was a complete build of his 1938 Chevy Coupe, from the frame up including all upholstery, engine & tranny work. He traded car work with a family friend for the final paint job. He only knew the color chosen was “blue”.

Dad loved babies. He couldn’t resist them & they couldn’t resist him.  Put a crying, screaming baby in his arms & he put them to sleep. He loved to say “just needed my touch”.

We couldn’t have asked for a better Dad. He loved us all & showed it on a regular basis through his actions of care. He liked to tease & give advice, and when he offered any help he expected nothing in return. He enjoyed giving to others. Never raised his voice or turned down a meal.

Daddy loved Momma & Momma loved Daddy. We were blessed to be raised in a great & loving family. Our memories of him and with him will keep us happy.
