Obituary

OLDS, Joseph Don “Joe Don” 77, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died Monday, September 26, 2011. Joe Don was born December 24, 1933, in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, to Joe and Dolly Olds. On June 7, 1958, he married the love of his life, Joan Olds. Reverend Olds served the Lord for 50 years as pastor in churches located in Oklahoma, Kansas, and North Carolina. He retired from Central Baptist Church, Owasso, Oklahoma on September 11, 2011. He loved God, his family, and the church. He was an encourager and his life-long motto was “keep on keepin’ on”. Joe Don is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Jeff, and wife, Maria; daughters, Jayne Williamson and Jennifer Olds; and granddaughter, Karis Olds. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Peggy McCord and Linda Prater, of Miami, Oklahoma. A celebration of Joe Don’s life will be held at Central Baptist Church, Owasso, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September, 29. The family will meet friends after the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Central Baptist Church Youth fund.

  2. It was a blessing to meet Joe Don on the occasions that the family was in Apex, NC to visit. His love for the Lord and his family was obvious to all. He will be sorely missed.
