Obituary

Josephine “Josie” Casillas Kopet age 66, left this wonderful life to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Josie was born December 6, 1947 to Pablo and Julia Casillas. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1967, and Tulsa Beauty Academy. She was a hair stylist for many years and had many devoted clients. Josie was a wonderful cook and could bake some awesome deserts and was known as the Baking Queen. She volunteered a short time for the Saint Francis Auxiliary and always looked forward to volunteering on Tuesdays of each week. Josie is survived by her sister Mary Nicholson, of St. Louis, Missouri,preceded in death husband Steven W. Kopet, sisters, Juanita Segovia, Beatrice Deramo, Margaret Casillas, brothers, Paul Casillas and Joe David Casillas, many nieces and nephews. She had so many friends who entrusted Josie to take care of their children, and she so did with much love. Sincere thanks and gratitude to all the nursing staff, health care providers and the many teams of doctors, and the dialysis unit. Rosary Monday evening May 5, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home, 2103 East 3rd Street, Tulsa, Ok, Funeral Mass, Tuesday May 6, 2014 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Cathedral 820 South Boulder Ave, Tulsa, Ok. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Clarehouse 7617 South Mingo Road, Tulsa, Ok, or Saint Francis Hospital Hospice.

    Josie blessed my life with her grace,humor,wit,hospitality and her love. Even though I will miss her, I am thankful for the many great memories of our friendship. I know there was a great heavenly reunion on May 1!
