Obituary

Joyce M. Ketcher, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend, passed away January 19, 2015 with her family by her side. Joyce was born August 12, 1935 in Durant, Oklahoma to John and Dorcas Stampes. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Joyce attended Central High School. Joyce and two of her sisters, Helen & Jean, owned The Court of Three Sisters located in downtown Tulsa. Joyce made friends easily. She was known for her beauty, both inside and out. She was a hard working woman who raised 5 children on her own. Each one of her children was made to feel special and each one would say they were her favorite, and they would all be right. Joyce truly was one of the sweetest people you would ever meet. Everywhere she went, people would always whisper to her family, “She is just the sweetest woman”. Her grandchildren remember that you could never leave her house without her saying I love you followed by a kiss. Joyce loved unconditionally and her presence on earth will be deeply missed. Joyce was preceded in death by; her parents; her daughter, Nancy; her grandson, Sean; her sisters, Mildred Blair “Mickey” and Helen Sopkin “Purkey”. She is survived by her loving children, Larry Ketcher and wife Angela, Anthony Ray Ketcher and wife Patricia, Danny Ketcher, Sandi Ketcher-Auten and husband Rick; 7 grandchildren, Jesse, Chad, David, Travis, Shawn, Brent and Brian; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Stampes & Johnny Stampes and wife Barbara; she is also survived by her sister, Jean Williams “Rooster”.
