Obituary

On July 3 1955, The world received a gift from God when Judith Ann Scales “Tarver” was born to Elmo Scales Jr and Margie Coleman Scales “Beard” (both preceded in death). Judith (Judy) was born in North Little Rock,

Arkansas and she was best known for her caring heart and her dedication to her family and closest friends. She had a very giving spirit and she welcomed and helped many with her kindness. Judy never knew a stranger. She truly was God’s favored child. Judith relocated to Tulsa,

Oklahoma during her youth where she graduated from Booker T. Washington. Upon graduation she began her

career at Sunoco Oil, and retired into her nursing field of over 25 years. She was also a member of Holsey Chapel CME for 16 years. Judith welcomed her first bundle of joy, her son Jasmon Pitts (LaTosha) through her union with Jasper Pitts (preceded in death). In 1986 she married her love of 23 years, Cliffton Tarver, and through that

union they welcomed their beautiful additions, Prentice and Cedrick Tarver (Frances). With an open heart, she

also welcomed her stepson Daryl Tarver (Sonji). She adored her sons and they cherished her. Judith leaves to cherish her memory, sisters June Scales (Oden), Wilma Lewis (McKinney), and Peggy Scales (Richardson). She leaves behind Dorothy Days, Queen Esther West, Lois Lawrence, Nora Anderson, Estella Johnson, Wendell Scales. She will be missed by her Grandchildren: JaQalah, Ysia, & LeTarra (Jas & LaTosha) JaTavia and Eli (Prentice and Hortense) Alixandra and Isaiah (Cedrick & Frances), and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

  1. Momma Bear, I thank you for all your love and all you have given me. Such a strong woman dedicated to family and loyalty, you have passed that on to your son and your grandchildren. Thank you for Jasmon… (Chuckie) who by you being his first love… Learned how to love me and be the best husband. Thank you for my girls who I see your reflection through everyday. I miss you and I hold onto the good memories that only you and I shared. "I get you.' As you called me… Your 1 daughter. Your son misses you… May your legacy strengthen him. Love, Duck
