Obituary

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

A time to be born…

On August 13, 1980, Lewis “Michael” Wilson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James (who preceded him in death) and Verdiner Wilson. He was their 5th son out of seven (Steven precedes him in death).

A time to pray and learn…

Lewis grew up in the Church of God in Christ (OKNW Jurisdiction) and accepted the Lord at an early age. Having a servant’s heart, Lewis would perform various duties within the church; Local Minister of Music, Sunday School Superintendent, and District Evangelist to name a few. Seeking to develop his prophetic gift, Lewis would join Gates of Refuge where he faithfully served under Pastor Calvin B. Johnson. After completing his assignment at G.O.R, the Lord would release him to shepherd his own flock. He would then open Resurrection Faith Church. Lewis would later return to the Church of God in Christ and continue his service at Historic Buford Colony under Pastor Brian Wilson where he would achieve one of his highest honors and become an ordained Elder.

Lewis attended Tulsa Public Schools. While in high school, he would enter the workforce to help provide for his family causing him to later complete his education by receiving his G.E.D.  In his late teens he would begin to develop his leadership skills that would afford him many work opportunities. His last being the Store Manager of Dollar General (Broken Arrow) where he dedicated his service and would touch the lives of all he met.

A time to love…

At the age of 16, Lewis would meet his best friend and life partner Ashlee. On a perfect day in 2001, Lewis and Ashlee would marry in a perfect union that would last 20 years. Together they were blessed with four children: Malachi Ishod, Elishah O’Shea, Israel Nashaan, and Josiah Cadence.

A time to be with the Lord…

On Tuesday, June 15th the one we love stepped across the threshold that we call death; but it was only another step into another room in our Father’s house. He acquired a triumphant victory and was awarded the land of eternity.

A time to weep…

He leaves to celebrate his life a devoted wife Ashlee Wilson, four sons Malachi, Elishah, Israel, and Josiah Wilson, one Godson and Goddaughter Judah and Zion Paschal, his mother Verdiner Wilson, five brothers James Jr., Anthony, Brian (Courtney), Tilton, and Aaron Wilson, his father-in-law Edgar Moore, brothers-in-law Tyran and Wendell Moore, Sister-in-law Simone Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
