Obituary

Linda “GMA” English (Cushman) peacefully passed away on June 23, 2026, at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 70.

Her family includes her son, Arthur English III; her grandchildren, Myka English, Jillisa Johnson, Kaylah Raymond, Dashawn Oakley, Jayden English, Brooklyn Price; her siblings, Jim Cushman, Mel Cushman, Janet Meyer, Beverly McIntosh, and Neta Bentley;  she is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Cushman and Esther Cushman.As well by her Siblings Barbara Skaugset, Dorothy Olsen, and Dan Cushman.

Linda was born on March 5, 1956, in Flagler, Colorado, to Lloyd Cushman and Esther Miller. She graduated from Fountain-Fort Carson High School in 1974. In 1976, she married Arthur English II, her true and first love. After moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, the couple welcomed their only child into their home the following year. Linda dedicated herself to teaching her children and grandchildren love and passion. Her family fondly remembers her as a kind and gentle mother as well grandmother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Linda was known for her problem-solving skills and patience. One notable example was her experience managing Waffle House during hurricane season in Galveston, Texas. She also taught her children and grandchildren how to drive and shared her knowledge of games and cultural practices from her time period that have become obsolete for this generation.

Linda was a generous and loving individual who had a deep appreciation for the beach, butterflies, elephants, and gnomes of all kinds. She was passionate about showing love to her family in any way she could.

A viewing is scheduled from 10 am to 1:30 pm, followed by a service in the chapel from 2 pm to 5 pm at 2103 E Third St, Tulsa, OK 74104, United States.

A reception will be held at 3115 S 136th East Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74134.
