The beautiful life of Linda Harmon Rountree

On March 23, 1959 Reese Harmon, Sr and Doretha Harmon welcomed into this world a beautiful baby girl who was the 3^rd born out of 4 children. They would call their only daughter Linda Marie Harmon. Linda was a happy child who always had a smile on her face, always made friends wherever she went. She had a very comical personality. Being the only girl, she was the apple of her father and mother’s eye.

Linda was reared in Tulsa, Oklahoma and she was educated in Tulsa Public Schools. After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in 1967, she attended Langston University. Later in life, Linda sought to continue her education by attending HCC (Houston Community College) and after losing her sight she attended Light House of Austin, Texas where she learned how to read brail.

Linda loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she attended Liberty Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Kendrick, Jr. Some believe she missed her comedic calling.

Linda was a support system for many because she never met a stranger. Linda had a special place in her heart for the Booker T. Washington Class of 9167 and was planning on attending the upcoming class reunion. Linda had several special that were dear to her heart and loved her Booker T. classmates.

Linda believed in hard work and helping others. Linda was blessed to experience love twice. Linda’s first husband was Joseph Ball. Linda later met and married Reverend David Rountree and together they moved to Houston, Texas. Although no children were born to his union, they were joined as a blended family and shared four beautiful together; Daryl, Kirsty, Hubbukka and Joshua.

Waiting at Heaven’s Gate with open arms will be her father, Reese Harmon, Sr, mother Doretha Harmon, brothers; Reese Harmon, Jr and Charles Harmon.

Cherishing her memory is her brother Edwin Harmon, Sr (Linda), her children; Daryl Ball and Kristy Wilder, nephew, Edwin Harmon, Jr, nieces; Angela Harmon, Andrea Robbins, Kimberly Harmon, Karen Harmon, Nicole Harmon, Doretha Harmon, two grandchildren; Dontrell Williams and Jhailan Ball and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Linda Rountree was born March 23, 1949, she passed away June 30, 2023.  Her Funeral Service is July 10, 2023 at 11 am at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home.
