Obituary

Born on November 12, 1982 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lisa Marie Roberts departed this life from her Tulsa home and returned to God on June 28, 2020.  She was 37 years old.

From babyhood, Lisa displayed a sweet, exuberant, highly sensitive character.  A precocious child, Lisa enjoyed many eclectic interests and loved learning.  She came by her many varied interests naturally, inheriting such tendencies from Don.  Lisa’s paternal grandmother, Virginia Roberts, was pleased that Lisa took after her by playing team basketball.  From basketball and cheering in her middle school and high school years, to reading in a wide variety of subjects (even, recently, Oz books), to loving pets, to talking about movies, and knitting scarves for her aunts, uncles and cousins, Lisa put her heart and soul into it.

Lisa was home-schooled by her mom and later attended and graduated from Tulsa Junior College.  She also earned her cosmetology degree.  She worked as a hairdresser and devoted her time to an organization that helped cancer patients with their hairdressing needs.  Lisa was a loyal, lifelong practitioner of her Catholic faith.

My late husband and I were good friends with Don and Cathy for years when we lived in Tulsa many years ago. We were around when Lisa was born and we both loved that sweet, forever curious little girl. Once we moved to Wichita, we saw them less often, but enjoyed having them for a weekend. One of the best parts of their visits was little Lisa running into the house to find our kids, who adored her as much as she adored them. She once said they were like her big brother and sister. She bunked with our daughter Chandy, and the two whispered and giggled all night long. We drifted apart over the years, but I had always hoped that sweet Lisa grew up to be a happy woman with a family of her own. I'm shattered to learn of her oassing. My most heartfelt condolences go to those who knew and loved her.
