Luther B. Morris Jr. “Butch”

Son of Luther B. Morris Jr. “Boots” and Verda Lea Morris born December 14, 1942, in Sesser, Illinois, passed quietly surrounded by family on August 22, 2024.

Mr. Morris was a 20 Year veteran of the US Navy, he worked as a jet mechanic and Naval Aviator. He went on to pursue a career with American Airlines.

Survived by his wife Elvira “Eva” Morris, children Luther B. Morris III “Luke”, Tina Griffiths, Maria “Mary” (Brandon) Johnson.

Grandchildren Allyssa (Shane) Sexton, Louie Morris, Tina Morris, Kalob (Virginia) Johnson, Aaron Griffiths and Matthew Griffiths.

Great grandchildren Max Sexton, Liam Sexton, and James Sexton.

Sister Anita (Steve) Griffith and other close family members Joselito “Lito” Fernandez and Maria “Mary Lou” Morris.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Stephen Allen Morris.

In lieu of a memorial service the family will hold a private celebration in his honor. Donations can also be made to the Salvation Army.
